Private Sector Demands Revision of Rs 500,000 Cash Transaction Cap

Leaders from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today formally urged the government to revise the mandatory banking transaction ceiling. FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal stated that the current Rs 500,000 limit, in effect since January 15, is creating “operational hurdles” for small-scale industries and traders in areas where banking access remains limited.
